Câu hỏi và câu trả lời mẫu
Is your family big or small?
Well, I'd say it's pretty big if you count the extended family.
My dad is one of five children, so on his side of the family I've got more cousins than I can count.
Most of them still live in Hue.
My immediate family's small, though, just my parents, my sister and me.
Do you get along well with your family members?
Yes, mostly.
I mean, we only really argue about one thing, which is who picks up the bill at a restaurant.
My uncle always wins, kind of unfairly, because he disappears to the counter halfway through the meal.
I once tried to sneak off first, but he was already there with his wallet out.
Who are you closest to in your family?
A cousin of mine, I'd say.
He's a year younger, and we grew up a few streets apart, so we were practically brothers.
He works in Da Nang now as well.
Whenever I have a big decision to make, he's the first person I turn to.
He tells it like it is, which can be annoying.
To be fair, he's usually right.
What do you usually do together as a family?
Eat, mostly.
When I'm back in Hue at the weekend, we always have lunch together.
The biggest family get-together, though, is my grandfather's death anniversary.
Oh, the cooking starts the night before.
Then the grown-ups talk for hours while the kids, you know, chase each other round the yard.
Do you want to have a family of your own in the future?
Well, someday, yes, but not yet.
I'd like to get my career sorted out first.
Of course, my aunts don't see it that way.
They keep dropping hints about when I'm going to settle down, usually while they're piling food into my bowl.
I just smile and keep eating until they move on to the next cousin.
