Câu hỏi và câu trả lời mẫu
How often do you eat fruit and vegetables?
Vegetables, basically every day.
I cook most evenings, and I make a point of having a plate of greens, usually morning glory stir-fried with garlic.
Fruit is a different story.
I always forget to buy it, so I'm lucky if I have some twice a week.
So I guess my diet's only half healthy.
Where do you usually buy fruit and vegetables?
Mostly from one stall at the market near my flat.
The lady there knows me by now, so she sets aside the best mangoes when they're in season.
I only pop into a supermarket if she's run out of something.
The thing is, supermarket fruit looks perfect, but it doesn't taste of much, I reckon.
What kinds of fruit and vegetables do you dislike?
Durian, without a doubt.
Honestly, the smell alone puts me off.
It's an acquired taste, and my taste buds clearly never acquired it.
Mind you, my sister loves it.
She once brought one round to my flat, and I had to keep every window open for two days.
Were there any fruits or vegetables you disliked as a child?
Yes, bitter melon.
Mum used to stuff it with minced pork for soup.
I'd always leave the melon at the bottom of my bowl.
I mean, what kid likes bitter soup?
She kept telling me it was good for cooling the body.
Funnily enough, she had the last laugh, because now I cook it myself.
Do people in your country like planting vegetables?
I'd say quite a lot, especially older people.
Even in cities, you see herbs and chillies growing in old polystyrene boxes on balconies.
My mum has green fingers, you know.
She grows spring onions and coriander in a little patch behind the house.
Sadly, none of it has rubbed off on me.
I can't keep a cactus alive.
