Câu hỏi và câu trả lời mẫu

Where is your hometown?

Well, it's Hue, in central Vietnam, about two hours from Da Nang by bus.

It's close enough for me to pop back most weekends, mainly to see my parents and my sister's two kids.

I reckon I'm their favourite uncle, because I always turn up with snacks.

Is that a big city or a small place?

I'd say it's quite small, especially compared with Da Nang.

You can ride across the centre in about twenty minutes.

In my neighbourhood, everyone kind of knows everyone, so news travels fast.

When I was a kid, I never got away with anything naughty, because my mum would hear about it by lunchtime.

What do you like most about your hometown?

Oh, the food, no question.

My mum has a little bun bo shop, so I grew up with the smell of lemongrass and chilli every morning.

I also love the slower pace of life.

I mean, sitting by the river with a coffee really helps me wind down after a busy week.

Is there anything you dislike about it?

Honestly, the weather at the end of the year.

It can pour for days on end, and everything feels damp.

Having said that, I got used to it as a kid.

What bothers me more is that there's not much going on at night, at least compared with Da Nang.

What's your hometown famous for?

Mostly its history, I'd say.

It was the capital under the last dynasty, so there's the old citadel and several royal tombs just outside the city.

My dad taught history for decades, so he loves showing visitors around.

He's basically a walking encyclopaedia.

Is your hometown a good place for young people to pursue their careers?

Not really, at least not in my line of work.

Hue's great if you work in tourism or teaching, but there are hardly any big tech companies.

That's why most of my classmates left after graduating, me included.

Then again, quite a few people work remotely these days, so a couple of my friends have actually moved back.
