Is it easy for you to remember people's names?

Not at all, actually.

It's funny, because I can remember bug reports from months ago, even tiny ones, and I never forget a face.

But names just go in one ear and out the other.

I mean, I've never really had a head for them.

How do you remember people's names?

Well, I try to say the name out loud as soon as I hear it.

Then I make a mental note of something about the person, like their job or a footballer they look like.

It sounds a bit daft, but, you know, it really does jog my memory later.

How do you feel when people can't remember your name?

Oh, it doesn't bother me much, to be fair, since I'm just as bad.

I usually just laugh it off.

If the same colleague kept getting my name wrong for months, though, I'd start to wonder.

Even then, I wouldn't take it to heart.

Do you often forget people's names?

Yes, more than I'd like to admit.

Last month, I chatted to a client at a work event for ten minutes, then drew a blank on her name.

I'd heard it twice, too.

Anyway, I just asked her to remind me, and she found it funny, so yeah, no harm done.
